Cycling Training 2026 Winter: G10 Students Conquer 80km Ride

Preparing for the cycling trip around Taiwan is not only about accumulating mileage, but also about learning how to listen to the environment, one’s physical limits, and oneself. Last week, the Grade 10 Cycling Around Taiwan program held its third training session, marking the first time many students challenged themselves with such a long-distance ride. Although the effects of a cold front remained and the early morning temperatures were low, the sunshine was especially bright. The riverside route stayed clear throughout the ride, bringing with it a notable test from strong ultraviolet exposure.

The training route began at Sunshine Park, passing through Shezi Island and Dajia Riverside Park, reaching Gate No. 5 of the Keelung River before turning back—a round trip totaling 80 kilometers. This long-distance ride allowed students to better understand their own pace and limits, while learning to make steady, thoughtful decisions even in moments of fatigue. With every turn of the pedals, they are building greater confidence and readiness for the cycling journey around Taiwan ahead.
