Mechanic King 2024: Xiugang Campus Shines in Competition
At Mechanic King 2024, New Taipei City teams showcased their interdisciplinary skills, with Xiugang Campus earning 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze, and 2 honorable mentions. Guided by teacher Rick Hsu, the students integrated scientific principles, creative imagination, and teamwork to overcome challenges and excel in hands-on problem-solving.
New Taipei City participated in the 2024 Mechanic King World Competition, where 400 teachers and students and nearly 100 teams competed.
The Taiwan representative team won a total of 7 gold, 11 silver, and 10 bronze medals, with eight works from New Taipei City receiving awards.
Kang Chiao International School Xiugang Campus won 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze, and 2 honorable mentions.
The guiding teacher, Rick Hsu, stated that the Mechanic King competition requires a combination of mathematical and design knowledge, allowing children to engage in hands-on problem-solving.
From brainstorming themes to completing production, the team integrates seven key competencies: scientific principles, problem-solving, creative imagination, engineering systems, manufacturing techniques, design methods and thinking, and teamwork.
Through continuous setbacks and challenges, they cultivate resilience and accumulate learning experiences.
